Originally from St. Louis Missouri, Karen Gillis graduated with a degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Administration before studying food styling at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in New York.
Armed with these skills and her natural talent, Karen was soon working as a successful food stylist in America for brands such as Pizza Hut, Weight Watchers and Old El Paso. After 12 years working commercially in America, Karen and her family relocated to Sydney permanently in 2004.
Karen has a great eye for detail, incredible patience and is brilliant at styling both food and props. She is a highly accomplished and skilled professional in the areas of recipe testing, food preparation, and food and prop styling, making her an indispensable commodity in the world of food photography.
