Wilk, originally from an isolated sheep and cattle station in outback Queensland, studied at the highly awarded Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE in Toowoomba, and the Queensland College of Art in Brisbane.
Even then, he was marked as a rising star for his contemporary portraits and creative vision by being named runner up in the country at the Australian Institute of Professional Photography awards.
His ability to turn a straightforward brief into a stunning and insightful image is due in part to his easy-going nature, his adeptness at getting into the minds of his subjects and his vivid conceptual approach.
Wilk’s creative mind never sleeps and he is constantly striving to deliver amazing concepts for his clients.
Wilk is also widely recognised and in high demand for his unique music portraits, having shot the who's who of Australian artists. These include Sarah Blasko, Missy Higgins, Dan Sultan, The Presets, Flume, Dustin Tebbutt, Crowded House, Jimmy Barnes, Katie Noonan, Clare Bowditch, Spiderbait and many more.
In addition to his stills work, WILK has also made a name for himself in the world of motion. Over the past 2 years he has conceptualised, filmed and directed music videos for the likes of Sarah Blasko, Jack Ladder, Goyte, Spender, Ella Hooper, Stillwife, Emma Anglesey and Jane Tyrrell.
WILK currently resides in Melbourne where he has his own studio, but travels to Sydney regularly for work.
